In commemoration of Sardar Vallabhai Patel’s birthday, a Vigilance Awareness Week was observed in Jubilee Hills Public School from 26th October to 31st October. The school organized various competitions like Poster Making and Elocution for the different grade levels. CBSE drive towards preventive vigilance as a tool of Good Governance was explained in School Assembly. Charts with slogans were made by the students which were put up all around the school. This helped students to think and reflect on the evils in the society. The topic was also included in the Teaching Plan. Students were also given an opportunity to suggest ways to put an end to the corruption prevailing in the various sectors. On 30th January, 2015 a valedictory function was held at the Reserve Bank of India office in Hyderabad. Three students of classes IX and XII were given cash prize for Essay Writing competition.

Jubilee Hills Public School celebrated Dussehra with great enthusiasm and energy. Vijayadashami also known as Dussehra or the Tenth day of Navratri is one of the most important Hindu festivals celebrated in various forms, across India.
The Students spoke on the significance of the festival and the way it is celebrated throughout the country. Various cultural programmes were conducted in the school premises. The secondary school students performed a dance to show the various forms of Goddess Durga and the story of Ramayana was depicted in the form of a dance by the Primary school students in a graceful manner.
The Principal, Ms. M. Varalakshmi wished everybody a Happy Dasara and a happy vacation. The Primary Headmistress, Ms. Sonia Nagpal asked the students to use knowledge and power to bring joy amongst people.The Chairman Sri A. Murali Mukund and the Managing Committee Member Sri. K. Krishnadev Rao were present on the occasion. They congratulated the students for their wonderful performance.

A workshop on financial literacy, organized by “Arthik Gyan” was conducted on 5th October for students of classes VIII to X. The workshop aimed to help the students for their future studies on finance. Mr. Madhukar conducted the introductory session where he spoke about the financial goal, budgeting and advantages of a bank.
A PowerPoint Presentation was shown by Mr. Nikhil, where he elaborated on the advantages of insurance, benefits of investments with some examples. Additional information on financial planning and precautions on banking were also given. The workshop enhanced the financial knowledge of the students.
The workshop concluded with a question and answer session followed by a test on financial education in India.

After 5 days of exciting matches, the CBSE Lawn Tennis Tournament culminated at the Lal Bahadur stadium on 1st October, 2015 where 58 schools and 450 students participated.
In the under 19 Boys’ category, Padma Seshadri School, Chennai won the 1st place, the Velammal International School, Chennai bagged the 2nd place and the 3rd place went to SBOA School & Junior College.
In the under 14 Boys’ Category, DPS East Bangalore won the first place, Oakridge International School, Hyderabad bagged the 2nd place and the 3rd place went to DPS, Nacharam.
In the under 19 Girls’ category, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavans School, Hyderabad won the 1st place. The 2nd place was bagged by The Global Edge School, Madhapur, Hyderabad and the 3rd place went to DAV Senior Secondary School, Mogappair, Chennai.
In the under 14 Girls’ category, the 1st place was won by SBOA School and Junior College, the 2nd place was bagged by
Jubilee Hills Public School, Hyderabad and the 3rd place went to Jain Heritage School, Bangalore.
The Chief Guest congratulated all the winners and hoped that they would be playing at Wimbeldon, Flushing Meadows and Roland Garros in future. The Chairman, Sri. A. Murali Mukund thanked Sri. A. Dinakar Babu for providing the venue. He said that participation was more important than winning. Speaking on the occasion the Academic Director, Ms. G. Sree Devi said that winning brings us instant gratification but at the same time we must also value the recognition of good sportsmanship. She thanked the sponsors S&S Green Project, Spardda Tennis Academy, ITS Chief Refree, Mr Shiva Kumar Reddy and his team of referees, JHPS Tennis coach Mr. Neelakata Rao. Mr. Pradeep, of P.E Department, JHPS proposed the vote of thanks.
