The Alumni meet of Jubilee Hills Public School was organized in the school auditorium on 24th December, 2016. A number of Ex students and teachers graced the occasion making it a memorable event. The main aim of our alumni meet is to give students the opportunity to reunite with their old friends and teachers. Every year our students come back to their Alma Mater and share their past experiences as well as their present occupations.
The nostalgic evening began with the Vice President of the Alumni association, Mr. Srikanth, welcoming the gathering. He invited the alumni to participate and give a talk. Some of them expressed their happiness for being a part of the institution and thanked the school for giving them this wonderful platform. Addressing the function, the Principal, Ms. M. Varalakshmi welcomed the alumni and said that it feels great that JHPS has given an opportunity to its students to meet each other once a year.
The Academic Director, Ms. G. Sree Devi, greeted the alumni, thanked them for coming
and asked them to come next year, renewed and rejuvenated. Ms. G. Durga, the Alumni Coordinator and Secondary Headmistress, asked the students to do something for the school and the society. The Vice President added that the Treasurer, Mr. A. Akarsh, has also been a great support to the alumni.
In all, the ambience was electric, with people seen chatting and catching up with each other. The meet ended with a promise to meet again next year and everyone bid an emotional farewell to each other.

The students and staff of Jubilee Hills Public School celebrated ‘Christmas’ with great enthusiasm and energy. A special assembly was conducted in which students spoke on the significance of the festival. The students from various classes sang Christmas carols and danced for Christmas songs. The children enjoyed the mesmerizing performances.
The Academic Director, Ms. G. Sree Devi, wished the students a ‘Merry Christmas’ and spoke about the significance of Christmas. She said that Christmas is all about showing humility,spreading love,caring and sharing. The Primary and the Pre Primary Headmistress, Ms. Sonia Nagpal, wished the Primary students on this occasion and spoke about the importance of being generous.A festive mood prevailed in the school and everyone participated in the Christmas celebrations with great joy.

Jubilee Hills Public School celebrated ‘MATH DAY’ on December 22nd, 2016 in the school premises to commemorate Sri. Srinivasa Ramanujan’s birth anniversary.
Many cultural programmes based on Mathematics were conducted in the primary and the secondary wing. Children participated with great zeal and enthusiasm and exhibited their talent.
The Academic Director, Ms. G.Sree Devi, in her address to the students said that Math becomes very easy and interesting, if we understand the concepts and logic. She added that Math is very useful in our daily lives and practice would make us perfect. The students enjoyed the programme and also revived some interesting Math concepts.

The CBSE Regional Level Science Exhibition was inaugurated at the Jubilee Hills Public School premises on 15th December, 2016. The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, the Chairman, Sri. A. Murali Mukund, the Vice President, Sri. D. Vidyasagar, the Principal, Ms. M. Varalakshmi and the Academic Director, Ms. G. Sree Devi. The eminent scientists, Dr. Bhupal Raj, Dr. V. Dinesh, Mr. Indrajit Patra, Dr. Kirti Srivastava, Dr. Kasyapa and Dr. P. Hemagiri Rao graced the occasion and were the judges for the event.
The Hillside magazine of the school was released by Dr. Kirti Srivastava. As a token of appreciation medicinal saplings were given to all the eminent guests. 72 schools from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana with 280 students and 70 teachers came to participate in the 3 day event.
The Principal, Ms. M. Varalakshmi, welcomed the gathering and said that it was ‘Science’ that had brought students from various schools together. She also added that this event would showcase the scientific talent of the students. Mentioning the achievements of Dr.Pavaluri, she said that JHPS was honoured to have eminent scientists in the school management.
The Chairman, Sri. A. Murali Mukund stated that it was a matter of pride and honour for JHPS to organize such a prestigious show. He said that students are the budding and future scientists who would play a major role in the growth of our country. He asked the students to be patient which would help them to succeed in their lives.
The Academic Director, Ms. G. Sree Devi, said that the exhibition would definitely rejuvenate the scientific temper of the students. She asked them to sow the seed of Science, water it and fertilize it. She thanked the students for the participation and called them the Chief Guests of the day.
Dr. Kirti Srivastava, the Chief Scientist at NGRI said that each child has the potential to explore Science and it is important to be honest, do their duties with devotion and the sky would be their limit. BOOK WEEK ‘ADHYAYAN’ the knowledge fest, was celebrated in Jubilee Hills Public School
from 28th November to 3rd December, 2016. The objective of ‘Adhyayan’ is to inculcate reading habits among the students. A special assembly was conducted to showcase the importance and value of reading.
The celebrations began with a devotional song followed by Saraswati dance. During the week different competitions such as ‘Story-telling’, ‘Spell bee’, ‘Book Mark preparation’, ‘Rhymes Recitation’ and ‘Book Review competition’ were conducted. This created awareness about the importance of reading books, among the students and also would help in their overall development. Prizes were given to the students as a mark of appreciation.
DEAR– Time (Drop Everything and Read) was held successfully on 28th Dec, in order to promote the reading habit in students.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal, Ms. M. Varalakshmi told the students that books are our best friends. She added that students must read books, as reading not only brings pleasure but increases our knowledge and improves the language skills too.

Jubilee Hills Public School has been selected as one of the few schools for establishing the Atal Tinkering Laborataries.
The Niti Aayog, Govt of India has selected Jubilee Hills Public School for establishing the Atal Tinkering Laboratory with a grant in aid of Rs. 20 lakhs. Out of 13,895 schools which had applied, 257 schools were selected across India and JHPS is one of the 8 schools which have got selected in Telangana.
The Chairman, Sri A. Murali Mukund and Professor, Y. V. Umapathi Varma congratulated the Academic Director, Ms. G. Sree Devi, the Principal, Ms. M. Varalakshmi, the Science HOD Ms. Anupama , the Science department teachers and the students Master. Jay Reddy, Karthik Ganti and Chandra Kiran from class 9.
