Tyagaraja Aradhanotsavam

Jubilee Hills Public School celebrated Tyagaraja Aradhanotsavam with gaiety and enthusiasm on 30th January, 2018. Tyagaraja Aradhanotsavam is celebrated all over the world to commemorate the genius Carnatic Vocal Music Composer Sri Tyagaraja. He was a devotee of Lord Rama and composed around 24000 keertanas both in Telugu and Sanskrit during his life time.

The aradhanotsavam started with a procession where a student dressed as Sri TyagarajaSwamy was led onto the dais while the keertanas were being sung. This was followed by lighting of the lamp. Students sang beautiful keertanas like, Rama Ramanivaranu, AbhishekavaradaGanesha, NamonamoRaghavaya, Rama namambhajare, Bantu riti, to invoke the presence of the Lord.

The Principal Ms. M. Varalakshmi said that music calms ones soul. She congratulated all the parents who motivated their children to participate in such a beautiful programme. Addressing the gathering, the Academic Director, Ms. G. Sree Devi said that these programmes show the true essence of India and her Culture. She said that all Indians need to be proud of it. She congratulated all the participants on the wonderful show. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the Cultural Secretary.

Baby’s Night Out

‘Baby’s Night Out’ for children of classes II and III on 27th January,2018 was organized at Jubilee Hills Public School. Every year Baby’s Night Outis organized to bring in a feeling of sharing, caring and friendly approach amongst the children. It was a night with their teachers and friends, away from their parents. The students came at 3:00 p.m. on 27th January and were warmly welcomed by the Head Mistress Ms. Sonia Nagpal and their teachers. The evening started with a prayer and welcome dancefollowed by a ‘Magic Show’.

The children had their evening snacks at 4.30 p.m. and then they were seen thoroughly engrossed in the various activities. They enjoyed the scheduled, interactive,age appropriate variety of innovative activities such as ‘Zorbing’,Air Balloon’, ‘Blind Fold’, ‘Caterpillar’ and ‘Team Circle Walk. The fun-filled fun games conducted,amused the little ones.

‘Bonfire’ was the evening’s most awaited event where they danced and enjoyed with all the energy they had. A delightful dinner was served to them. Movie time with family is usual for them but watching a movie in the company of their peers was exciting and exceptional. The next morning, children woke up to the traditional song of ‘Suprabhatam’ which was followed by jogging and zumba. They were then served a healthy breakfast and given a gift.Everyone had a great time and left reluctantly,wanting for more. The parents thanked the School Management for organizing such an event to inculcate a feeling of responsibility in the children.

Parent Day of Class I

On 27th January 2018, Jubilee Hills Public School organizedParent Day of Class I “The Basics” in the school premises. Of course, the preparation for the big day commenced a month agowhen the teachers planned and the children of class-1 worked and practiced really hard to impress their parents with their skills and talents. It was a theme based program, which created an awareness about “Needs and Wants” of the humans. The program started with a Swagatham dance invoking the blessings of the God. Students show cased their talents to not only to entertain but also to convey an important message about simple living, the essentials of life, the gift of giving and sharing and caring through the program. The performance of the students was appreciated by the Management and the parents.

Republic Day Celebrations

Republic Day honours the date on which the Constitution of India came into force supplanting the Government of India Act (1935) as the governing document for India and India had become a Republic. Jubilee Hills Public School celebrated Republic Day with fervour and patriotism. The Chief Guest for the day was Sri. K. Krishnadev Rao, President, Jubilee Hills Education Society. The Chairman, Sri. A. Murali Mukund and the distinguished Managing Committee Members, Academic Director, Ms. G. Sree Devi, Principal Ms. M. Varalakshmi, entire staff and students also graced the occasion.

The National flag was hoisted by the Chief Guest. This was followed by the march past by the students belonging to the four houses, Ganga, Godavari, Krishna and Cauvery and the NCC Cadets. The Principal Ms. M. Varalakshmi welcomed the dignitaries and said that this was the day when India truly became a sovereign and democratic Republic. This day is celebrated in such a way that the regional identity takes a backseat and the brotherhood and oneness takes precedence. The day brings with it the feeling of togetherness. She asked one and all to take the pledge of carrying the vision of our freedom fighters forward.

Addressing the gathering the Chief Guest said that this day was indeed a great day for the country as it is celebrating its 69th Republic Day. He said that India had a long troubled history and at no time even during its glorious past, was this country brought under one constitution and one rule. Present day India owes an immeasurable debt to the vision of one man, Sri. SardarVallabhbhai Patel. He also reiterated that today is the day to remember and salute the great freedom fighters to whom we owe our freedomand that freedom has to be respected. He asked everyone to take an oath to preserve the ideals for which our country stands for and that the onus lies with the future generation to carry it forward.

The Cultural Programme included the Patriotic Songs, a fusion dance from the states of Telangana and Haryana based on the initiative ‘EkBharathShreshthBharath’ by the Honourable Prime Minister Sri. NarendraModi, Sports events, Mass Drill and Yoga which built the patriotism towards the Nation. Various awards were presented to the deserving teachers and students by the Chief Guest. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by the Senior Secondary Sports Captain Vasudha.

The Principal was also appreciated for her valuable suggestions on the importance of collaborations for ensuring safety and security of schools.
