Telugu Bhasha Dinotsavam

“Telugu” is known as the Italian of the East, the language is renowned for its beauty, versatility and elegance.
Telugu Bhasha Dinotsavam was celebrated to commemorate the birthday of Sri Kaloji Narayana Rao. Songs depicting the beauty of the language were showcased to the audience.

Speeches given by the students talked about the greatness and the respect one needs to show towards their mother tongue. Students then presented “Padya Kavita” in a very beautiful and poetic manner. On the occasion it was emphasized that even if one learns other languages due to necessity, one should never forget their mother tongue.

Hindi Diwas

Hindi Diwas was celebrated at Jubilee Hills Public School with a lot of enthusiasm to show respect towards the Hindi Language which was included in the Indian Constitution on 14th September 1949. The skits, dances and songs put up by the students talked about the beauty and the versatility of the language.

A beautiful Nukkad Natak was showcased in the assembly where in swachhata Pakhwada – a cleanliness drive for Swachh Bharat and the importance of keeping ones surroundings clean was discussed in a very educative manner. Every student and staff took the pledge of keeping their surroundings clean. The Academic Director Ms. G. Sree Devi appreciated the efforts put in by the students.

Swachhata Pakhwada

As part of the campaign for Swachh Bharat- the School observed Swachhta Pakhwada from1st to 15th September, 2018 to create awareness among the students regarding Cleanliness and the ongoing cleanliness drive “Swachh Bharat” started by our respected Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi.

With an aim to achieve the Prime Minister’s goal the students and teachers of the school took pledge “I will remain committed towards cleanliness and initiate the quest for cleanliness with myself, my family, my locality, my village and my work place. I will endeavour to make everyone devote their 100 hours for cleanliness. I am confident that every step I take towards cleanliness will help in making my country clean.” Various activities and competitions like: English and Hindi Essay Writing Competition and Poster Making Painting Competition were conducted in our school for classes III to XII, wherein the students realised the importance of cleanliness and sanitation, as the role of schools has been instrumental in realizing the mission of Swachh Bharat.

A rally was also organized to create awareness about “Cleanliness and Hygiene”. Swachhta Awareness messages were posted on the school website and photographs were displayed in the school. All the activities conducted by the school, enabled it to take this mission of Cleanliness to the community, thereby creating mass awareness.
A valedictory programme was organized at the end of Swachhta Pakhwara and prizes were given for participation of children in various competitions. The entire event was a huge success and it portrayed the words ‘Purity of mind and cleanliness of land go hand in hand towards the building of an ideal nation’ beautifully.

Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations

Jubilee Hills Public School celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with pomp and festivity on 12th September 2018. Ganesh puja was performed to invoke the blessings of Lord Ganesha. The President, Sri. K. Krishnadev Rao, the Chairman, Sri. A. Murali Mukund, the Academic Director, Ms. G. Sree Devi, staff, students and parents graced the occasion.

The Cultural Programmes performed at the premises started off with a puja accompanied by a prayer song. It was followed by a skit which depicted how Lord Ganesha came to be known as, “Vighna Nayaka”. The students further explained about the significance of the festival. Captivating dance performances to the tracks ‘Jai Deva Ganesha’ and ‘Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha’ left the audience spellbound. ‘Ganapathi Bappa Moriya – Agle Baras tu Jaldi Aa’ echoed all around and brought in the festive mood.

Fire Drill

Safety of the students has always been the first priority at Jubilee Hills Public School. Taking this ideology a step ahead, a fire drill was conducted successfully at the school involving the secondary students along with the teaching and non-teaching staff.

Firemen from Film Nagar Fire Station headed by Fire Station Officer, Mr. Chandra Sekhar Babu demonstrated various safety measures to be taken in case of fire. They explained about the evacuation process and also showed various techniques used by them to extinguish different types of fires. Student volunteers along with the firemen also demonstrated measures to be taken in case of any casualty caused due to fire. The session was informative and educational.

Teacher’s Day Celebrations

“Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo maheshwara, Guru Sakshath Para Brahma,Tasmay Sri gurave namaha”. This verse epitomizes the value of teachers in Indian Culture. Jubilee Hills Public School celebrated Teacher’s Day with a lot of enthusiasm. The President, Sri. K.Krishnadev Rao, The Chairman, Sri. A. Murali Mukund, Principal, Ms. M. Varalakshmi, Academic Director, Ms. G. Sree Devi, Staff and students celebrated the occasion together.

The cultural programmes put up by the students depicted the importance of Teachers Day. The students exhibited their reverence and heartfelt gratitude towards their teachers for their devotion and their support.

Star Educator Ms. G. Sree Devi

Jubilee Hills Public School has proved itself to be the leader in Education once again when Ms. G. Sree Devi, the Academic Director received the “Teaching Excellence Award” as a “Star Educator for Special Contribution in School Education” by The Progressive Teacher Magazine on 1st Sep 2018 at New Delhi.

Education had been teacher centric earlier where the teacher taught what she wanted. Now the world has changed, the student has become the apex of the triangle, while the teacher and the parent have become the vertices who work together for the betterment of the child. The teacher has become more of a facilitator who guides, motivates and hand holds the student and leads him to success. Jubilee Hills Public School has been moving ahead with times, continuously and tirelessly working to improve the pedagogy and how it is delivered.

ARDUINO Workshop

Jubilee Hills Public School was given a grant in aid by Niti Aayog, Government of India to establish Atal Tinkering Laboratories. To build and to foster the students’ creativity and help them to become familiar with the concept of Tinkering and Design Thinking, the school organized an Arduino workshop for its Atal students in collaboration with Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology.

Arduino is an open-source electronic prototyping platform which can be used in developing real world applications. This can interact with buttons, LED’s, motors, speakers, GPS units and Smartphone’s. The students gained a hands on experience in working with AURDINO and different sensors and their application in day to day life. The students had an enriching and a fruitful experience.

TARANG of Class V – A Leader in Me

The students of class V showcased a fantastic performance ‘TARANG’ with the theme ‘A LEADER IN ME’ on 1st September, 2018 at Jubilee Hills Public School. The Primary Incharge Headmistress Ms.C.Srilatha, addressed the gathering and briefed about the theme of becoming a good leader with passion, will-power, determination and confidence. She added that leaders are born with leadership qualities within and we need to develop the qualities of leadership in our children to create great leaders.

The entire programme was very well anchored in three languages. The dances, skits, dramas and the role plays were well performed by the students with fluent dialogue delivery and natural acting. These jogged our memories of different leaders like Mother Theresa, Mahatma Gandhi, Alluri Sitharamaraju, M.S. Dhoni etc., who inspired and made a difference in the society.

The Chairman, Sri A. Murali Mukund, appreciated the students for portraying different types of leaders through the programme. He added that some leaders are self-inspired, some are born and some are made, we being teachers and parents should develop and inculcate the leadership qualities by giving them good education, situations to think logically, present themselves with confidence and to have common sense to deal with the situations they face. The President, Sri K. Krishna Dev Rao, appreciated the children and asked to think about the richest culture India has and suggested the parents and grandparents to involve in their children’s life and imbibe our culture within them. The parents of Class V were overwhelmed with the impressive and thought-provoking performances of their children and carried lots of memories by end of the show.
