Makar Sankranthi marks the arrival of spring season and is one of the auspicious festivals celebrated in India. This day is dedicated to Lord Surya or the Sun. Makar Sankranti is the festival of harvesting and kite flying. It is celebrated throughout India with splendor and glory.

On this occasion, the Pre-Primary students of Jubilee Hills Public School celebrated Sankranthi on 11th January, 2020. The Chairman Shri. A. Murali Mukund, the Principal Ms. M. Varalakshmi and other dignitaries graced the occasion.

The Assembly started with a prayer song to mark the occasion. The children spoke about the importance of Sankranthi in different languages. The dance drama depicting the festival of Sankrathi comprised of Gangireddulu, Haridasu , Gobbillu and Bhogi Mantalu brought in festive spirits among the audience. The children performed various dances to the tunes of Pongalo Pongal and Sankranthi Vacchindi which added happiness by creating a lively ambience. The true essence of the festival was well portrayed.

The last part of the program was showering Bhogi Pallu on the students by the dignitaries and parents to protect them from evil eye. The programme came to an end with vote of thanks followed by National Song.

To commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, the students of Pre-Primary celebrated Christmas on 24.12.19 with great spectacle and splendour. The programme commenced with carols followed by a welcome speech by Head Boy Master A.Vihaan. An array of speeches, dances and dance drama were presented by the students of both LKG and UKG. The whole ambience reverberated with happy carols and good cheer as this is the wonderful time of the year.

The programme concluded with great joy, happiness and wishing everyone Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Vote of thanks was proposed by Head Girl Ms. Aahana.

The students of LKG celebrated Rangmanch “Cartoon Carnival” on 7th December, 2019 in the school premises. The programme was witnessed by the Chairman Sri.A.Murali Mukund, Principal Ms.M. Varalakshmi and the Academic Co ordinator Ms.Sonia Nagpal and other dignitaries.

The programme started with a prayer song followed by welcome address by the Primary Headmistress Ms. Srilatha C.
The children welcomed the parents with “Suswagatam dance”.The event started with different episodes of cartoon characters like Chhota Bheem, Little Singham, Simple Samosa, Doraemon, Mickey and Minnie followed by skits and dances. Apart from cartoons,Colour Day was also celebrated. Students danced to different tap footing steps highlighting the colours Red, Blue ,Green and Yellow.

The programme concluded with parents reviews. They were very happy to see their children perform so confidently on stage and were overwhelmed with the way the values were taught right from young age. The programme ended with vote of thanks.

Grandparents are a family’s greatest treasure. The founders of a loving legacy, the greatest storytellers and the keepers of traditions. Grandparents are the family’s strong foundation. Through their special love and care grandparents keep a family close to heart.

To honour them Jubilee Hills Public School celebrated Grandparents’ Day on 2nd November, 2019. The programme was witnessed by Chairman Sri A. Murali Mukund, Principal Ms. M Varalakshmi, other dignitaries and grandparents.
The celebration began with the prayer song followed by the welcome address by Head Boy Vihaan. The students have put up an enthralling folk fusion performance for the grandparents. They tapped their feet to the various tunes of old melodies. Speeches and the inevitable dance performances of the students on “Free Style Dance”, “Bhangra” and Lambadi dance left the audience spellbound.

To convey the importance of joint family, a skit on ‘Joy of living together’ was presented by the students along with the mythological dance drama ‘ Om Namo Venkateshaya’. A photo gallery displayed with the photos of grandparents with their grandchildren was an added attraction. The programme ended with the Vote of Thanks by Head Girl Ms. Aahana Behura.

Diwali is one of the most significant festival of India known as the festival of lights. The auspicious occasion of Diwali was celebrated by Pre-Primary students of JHPS on 25.10.2019.

The Programme commenced with a prayer song followed by a wecome speech by Head Girl Ms. Aahana. Speeches, skit on Narakasura vadha and several dance performances by the students mesmerized the audience. The do’s and don’ts of using fireworks was n added information given to spread the awareness on Safe and Green Diwali. The whole atmosphere was splattered with joy, happiness and festive mood. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Head Boy Master A. Vihaan.
