One of the most important things in life is to be healthy, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. To make this possible one needs to lead a ‘healthy lifestyle.’ The theme ‘The Fitness Formula’ was chosen for the Parent Day to make our students aware of physical fitness and healthy eating habits.
The programme commenced with a prayer song followed by a welcome address by Ms. Sonia Nagpal who said that JHKS believes in upgrading the curriculum with various teaching and learning strategies. As a step forward, this year simple science experiments have been added to the curriculum in order to emphasize more on skill based learning. Through these experiments students learn reasoning and questioning.
Ms. Sonia Nagpal said that the main aim of Parent Day is to exhibit skills and innate talent of each and every student on the stage. This will help them to grow into well informed, confident and responsible global citizens of tomorrow. She added, being healthy is not a fad but it is a lifestyle and we should try to inculcate healthy habits in students.
Anjani Vankineni, a student of UKG welcomed the gathering followed by a colourful Health Day song ‘I gonna catch you’. The programme continued with an inspiring speech on Health Day by Ms. Shreya Jain. The students posed riddles related to fruits and vegetables to the audience. The parents participated enthusiastically and guessed the answers. This was followed by a PPT presentation by Ms. Saanvi on Healthy food. Aerobics by tiny tots enthralled the audience.
Orange Colour Day was also celebrated where the students depicted fruits and vegetables at the Orange station. The Zumba dance performance by kids mesmerized the gathering.
Parents shared their views and were very happy to see their kids perform on stage confidently. The Chairman, Sri A. Murali Mukund, the Principal Ms. M. Varalakshmi, and the parents appreciated the efforts put in by the teachers and students. Ms. Rushita of Class UKG B proposed the vote of thanks.
