One of the most important things in life is to be healthy, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. To make this possible one needs to lead a ‘healthy lifestyle.’ The theme ‘The Fitness Formula’ was chosen for the Parent Day to make our students aware of physical fitness and healthy eating habits.
The programme commenced with a prayer song followed by a welcome address by Ms. Sonia Nagpal who said that JHKS believes in upgrading the curriculum with various teaching and learning strategies. As a step forward, this year simple science experiments have been added to the curriculum in order to emphasize more on skill based learning. Through these experiments students learn reasoning and questioning.
Ms. Sonia Nagpal said that the main aim of Parent Day is to exhibit skills and innate talent of each and every student on the stage. This will help them to grow into well informed, confident and responsible global citizens of tomorrow. She added, being healthy is not a fad but it is a lifestyle and we should try to inculcate healthy habits in students.
Anjani Vankineni, a student of UKG welcomed the gathering followed by a colourful Health Day song ‘I gonna catch you’. The programme continued with an inspiring speech on Health Day by Ms. Shreya Jain. The students posed riddles related to fruits and vegetables to the audience. The parents participated enthusiastically and guessed the answers. This was followed by a PPT presentation by Ms. Saanvi on Healthy food. Aerobics by tiny tots enthralled the audience.

Field trips give students educational experiences away from their regular school environment. Observing the things, rather than listening/reading about a topic in the class has a strong impact on students’ minds, which is long lasting. To enhance students awareness, Jubilee Hills Kindergarten School organized an Educational trip to Botanical Gardens on 3rd August 2016.
The students enjoyed nature walk in the garden and saw rabbits on their way. They were taken to the ground, which had recreational equipment such as the seesaw, swing, slider and jungle gym. This play time helped them to develop physical coordination, strength and flexibility, and also provided recreation and enjoyment. The students enjoyed having lunch in the open area, under the green trees. It was indeed a good opportunity for them to develop social skills such as caring and sharing.
