Grandparents are a family’s greatest treasure. The founders of a loving legacy, the greatest storytellers and the keepers of traditions. Grandparents are the family’s strong foundation. Through their special love and care grandparents keep a family close to heart.
To honour them Jubilee Hills Public School celebrated Grandparents’ Day on 2nd November, 2019. The programme was witnessed by Chairman Sri A. Murali Mukund, Principal Ms. M Varalakshmi, other dignitaries and grandparents.
The celebration began with the prayer song followed by the welcome address by Head Boy Vihaan. The students have put up an enthralling folk fusion performance for the grandparents. They tapped their feet to the various tunes of old melodies. Speeches and the inevitable dance performances of the students on “Free Style Dance”, “Bhangra” and Lambadi dance left the audience spellbound.
To convey the importance of joint family, a skit on ‘Joy of living together’ was presented by the students along with the mythological dance drama ‘ Om Namo Venkateshaya’. A photo gallery displayed with the photos of grandparents with their grandchildren was an added attraction. The programme ended with the Vote of Thanks by Head Girl Ms. Aahana Behura.
