The students of class IV showcased a spectacular performance ‘TARANG’ with the theme ‘The 7 R’s of Reformation’ on 28th July 2018 at Jubilee Hills Public School.

The Primary Headmistress Ms.Srilatha addressed the gathering and briefed the theme of the day. The entire programme was very well anchored in three languages. The skits, mime shows, dances and street plays were well performed by the students with fluent dialogue delivery and natural acting. These suggested that all our old practices can be rebuilt and reinvented with the efforts of the present generation students. Group dances were the highlights of TARANG and the presentations were praiseworthy.

The Academic Director Ms.G.Sree Devi gave kudos to the teachers and students and suggested parents to keep a tab on how their children use technology. The Principal Ms.M.Varalakshmi praised the performances and appreciated the teachers for training the children so well and bringing out the best in them.

Traffic Awareness Programme

A Traffic Awareness Programme was conducted at Jubilee Hills Public School by Mr.N.Srinivas, SI, Mr.V.Kantha Rao, SI, and their team from Traffic Police Station, Jubilee Hills.The Principal Ms. M. Varalakshmi welcomed the gathering.The aim of the programme was to generate awareness over traffic rules and regulations and safety. The students of Classes 8, 9, and 10 participated in the programme. Explanation regarding traffic rules and how to follow them was done through a presentation. The traffic police explained as to why it is utmost important to abide by the rules and regulations such as walking on a pedestrian footpath, taking safety measures like wearing a helmet on a two wheeler, wearing the seat belt in the car, following a queue system where necessary.

Emphasis was laid on the importance of taking care during monsoons where the roads become water logged. The students were asked to traverse the area. In case the road is to be used during rains they were suggested to carry a stick to check the depth of water on the street. The Academic Director asked the students to keep the rules and regulations in mind and abide by the same for their safety.

Class II Field Trip to Gosha Mahal Traffic Training Park

An Educational field trip to Gosha Mahal Traffic Training Park for class 2 was organized by Jubilee Hills Public School which was held on 25thJuly, 2018,to bring awareness on safety and traffic rules. Students started from the school campus at 9.00 A.M. along with the teachers.

Students were welcomed to the venue and were taken to an audio visual room for the 1st session where one of the traffic inspectors introduced safety precautions to be followed on the road by showing PPT to the kids. The PPT was about how to slow down at the junctions, pedestrian crossings, school zones, hospital areas etc.,where a lot of pedestrians and vehicles move.

The 2nd session was based on cycle and bike riding activities. Children enjoyed cycle and bike rides practically and observed various things like –helmet, gloves, sunglasses, reflectors and lamps which are worn while driving for the safety purpose. Students really enjoyed their field trip and shared the knowledge with their friends.Overall, it was a wonderful experience for the students.

Class III Field Trip to National Institute of Rural Development

The purpose of Field trips as far as education is concerned is that they link the classroom education with the external world. They not only bring progress in learning, but also give both, the scholar and the guru treasured, realistic knowledge.

An educational field trip to the National Institute of Rural Development
was organized for class 3, on 18th July, 2018. Located at Rajendra Nagar, the institute is a motivational place to bring awareness on making of various products using natural resources, without chemicals, thus enabling rural development, encouraging small scale industries and providing jobs to many of the underprivileged.

The students were shown a Power Point presentation on all the activities being done at NIRD. The students were taken to observe the making of handmade paper from waste material, dyeing of yarn, making of vermi compost and herbal products. The students were shown the working of the solar cooker with the help of the sun’s rays. The students enjoyed thoroughly and made a note of each and every process. Overall, it was a wonderful and informative field trip for the students of class III.

Vanamahotsav and Science Exhibition

The festival of life came alive as Vanamahotsav was celebrated in a grand manner at Jubilee Hills Public School. It was a bonanza at the school as Science Exhibition “Aavishkar” was inaugurated the same day.

The Chief Guest for the day was Ms. C. S. Rama Lakshmi, (Retd. IFS). The Chairman, Sri.A. Murali Mukund, Joint Secretary,Sri. T. Harischandra Prasad, distinguished Managing Committee Member, Sri.B.V.P.Raju,Staff, Students, Parents and representatives from other schools graced the occasion.

The programme started with the lighting of the lamp to invoke the blessings of the Almighty. The Principal, Ms.M.Varalakshmi welcomed the dignitaries and the participants. She said the huge way in which the school celebrates Vanamahotsav, shows the commitment towards nature and community at large.

Speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest said that it was indeed a wonderful opportunity to be addressing such a young audience. She said that investing in children is investing in India. She called upon them to help with whatever little they can do to help the planet. She urged everyone to plant more trees to help India be healthy. She conducted an impromptu session of quiz on nature which was answered with a lot of enthusiasm by the students.

“Instead of felling trees, one can transplant them and give them a second life.” This knowledge was shared by Shri. Rama Chandra Appari, MD, Green Morning Horticulture Pvt. Ltd. He stated that development and planting trees can go hand in hand. He presented the process and steps of transplantation.

The Science Exhibition “Aavishkar” was then inaugurated by the Chief Guest. Exhibits from the students ofJHPS and other schools were showcased. The exhibition was then opened to the parents and the Primary and Secondary students were seen answering eagerly to the questions posed by the visitors.

The Cultural Programmes included a welcome dance by professionally trained students of Class IX and X in Kuchipudi. The programmes were awe-inspiring and emphasized the importance of nature in our lives. It set everyone present there thinking of what lies ahead if we do not take the call to protect Mother Nature now.

The Opening Ceremony of a two day Session of Model BRICS took place on 13th July, 2018 at Jubilee Hills Public School. Model BRICS is a platform provided to the students to give simulation and expose them to the current scenario of problems and bilateral relationships amongst member countries.

The Chief Guest for the day was Ms. C. S. Rama Lakshmi, (Retd. IFS).The Chairman, Jubilee Hills Public School, Sri.A.MuraliMukund, Joint Secretary, Jubilee Hills Education Society, Sri. T. Harischandra Prasad, distinguished Managing Committee Member, Sri. B.V.P.Raju, Staff, Students, Parents and representatives from other schools graced the occasion.

The Secretary General, Medhansh Saturi spoke about the BRICS ,initiating 10 Committees representing the five countries Brazil, Russia, India, China and South America working on a two point agenda.

165 students from various schools participated in the event. The presentation calls upon delegates from different schools representing the countries forming BRICS to discuss about the problems faced by the nations and seek mutual cooperation in order to overcome the problems.

Speaking on the occasion, The Academic Director, Ms. G. Sree Devi said that no country can exist independently.She said that Jubilee Hills Public School, in its effort is trying to bring awareness to the citizens of the city as to what BRICS is. She urged them to look at each other as human beings but not people representing an enemy nation. Addressing the gathering at the closing ceremony, The Chairman said, educated youth of India should take part in politics to lead the nation to its glory.

Sri. T. Harischandra Prasad, Joint Secretary, Jubilee Hills Education Society, said that Model BRICS has been organised to promote a spirit of cooperation rather than that of competition and also to instil universal brotherhood and Create Global Leaders for a better tomorrow. He urged the students to try and cooperate and help each other with the knowledge they have and support each other.

The Secretary General presented the draft resolution to the Chairman and the Newsletter pertaining to Model BRICS was released at the end of the event.It was a moment of pride when all the prize winners received their prizes from the Chairman and the Joint Secretary. The programme concluded with a classical dance performance by Class VII students.

Class V Field Trip

Field trips serve as a vital function as far as education is concerned, they link the classroom learning with the outside world. In doing so they not only improve learning, but also give both the learner and educator valued practical experience. An educational field trip to Birla Planetarium and Science Museum was organized by Jubilee Hills Public School for the students of class V on 4TH July, 2018 in order to give them a practical experience of the things from the Golden Era. The science based mechanical projects enhanced their knowledge and roused their curiosity.

The students were taken with an aim of providing practical knowledge of the Universe, Solar System, Milky Way, Galaxy and Constellation. Overall it was an enriching experience and the students gained in depth knowledge.
