MUN 1.0

The Jubilee Hills Public School, Hyderabad hosted its inaugural Model United Nations conference, JHPS MUN 1.0, on October 23 and 24, 2024 with enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and alumni. This two-day event was meticulously organized by the MUN secretariat, with essential support from teachers who played a significant role in coordinating every aspect of the event.

In preparation for the event, the secretariat utilized digital platforms to reach out to prospective delegates. Google Forms were shared with students from various schools to facilitate registration, and invitations were extended to ensure a diverse range of participants. The MUN also had a dedicated Instagram account, where reels and updates were regularly posted, creating anticipation and excitement. The school’s alumni were invited to chair the committees, taking on roles as the Executive Board members, including Chair and Vice Chair positions, which added to the event’s significance and the quality of guidance and mentoring provided to the delegates.

On the much-anticipated first day of the conference, delegates arrived from various committees and gathered for registration. Following the formalities, the event commenced with an opening ceremony that set an inspiring tone for the sessions to come. Delegates then dispersed into their respective committee rooms, where they participated in discussions and debates. The day was a blend of structured committee sessions and enjoyable moments, offering a balanced and memorable experience for everyone involved.

The excitement only intensified on Day 2, as delegates brought even more energy and engagement to their committees. The morning was filled with discussions that eventually led to the drafting of resolutions. After a lively and engaging lunch, a press conference allowed representatives from all committees to share insights and experiences, fostering an environment of openness and inter-committee camaraderie.

The closing ceremony celebrated the hard work and achievements of the delegates and honored the efforts of the secretariat and Executive Board members. But the most eagerly awaited event of the conference was the social night, where everyone gathered to celebrate the end of JHPS MUN 1.0. The evening was filled with laughter, music, and dance, photo booths and food stalls set up for all to enjoy.

JHPS MUN 1.0 concluded on a high note, leaving all participants with invaluable experiences, memories, and friendships. The conference was a testament to the dedication of the organizing team and the spirited participation of the delegates, marking it as a significant success in the history of Jubilee Hills Public School.
